The relationship between competition, patent protection and access to medicine is the subject of the new edition of the panel Observatório da Concorrência promoted by CADE and South Centre. The event will occur at CADE’s headquarters and broadcast online on 18 August at 2:30 pm (local time).
The Observatório da Concorrência aims to bring closer CADE and Government sectors related to competition for institutional improvement. The occasion will allow for discussing the intersection of antitrust policies and patent protection against the need to ensure Brazilian society access to medicine.
Some of the guests to take part on the event are the following: Ricardo Medeiros de Castro, Assistant Chief Economist of CADE; Carlos Correa and Vitor Henrique Ido, from the organisation South Centre; Júlio Cesar Moreira, from the Brazilian Institute of Industrial Property (INPI); Ana Patrizia Ribeiro, from the Ministry of Finance; Jorge Bermudez, from FIOCRUZ; Miguel Emery de Carvalho, from the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services;Varley Sousa, from Anvisa.
