High Level Regional Meeting on Intellectual Property Policies to Facilitate Access to Medicines, 2 – 4 October, 2019
Event details
The South Centre is organizing a high-level regional meeting of policymakers of Central America and the Caribbean, in San Jose, Costa Rica. Many countries in the region have been affected by the delay or lack of essential medicines, being excessive pricing a major issue of concern. The meeting will discuss, among others, options to ensure access to affordable medicines, including how governments can put in practice strategies to enhance local production and public procurement at affordable prices. This will be an opportunity for policymakers from different areas and countries to exchange views and seek cooperation at the regional and international levels.
