The South Centre aims to facilitate dialogues between patent offices to foster South-South cooperation among its member States and other developing countries on the use of TRIPS flexibilities to promote access to medicines, vaccines and diagnostics, including in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The dialogues entail two main activities: (i) virtual interactive sessions among patent offices through the e-learning portal of the South Centre for the sharing of experiences on the standards of pharmaceutical patent examination as a key TRIPS flexibility to promote access to pharmaceuticals; and (ii) educational visits to improve learning on the subject.
